What is sublimation paper?

Sublimation paper is a key element in the process of creating precise and permanent prints on any type of product intended for sublimation. Its surface has been coated with a special coating that allows the sublimation ink to be precisely retained on the paper and to be efficiently released during thermal transfer.  

CRAFT PAPER A4 is suitable for sublimation printing on polyester fabrics and hard surfaces covered with a polyester layer (e.g. ceramics, aluminium, plastics).

How does sublimation paper work?

During the sublimation process, the ink printed on the paper in solid form under the influence of high temperature and pressure transforms directly into a gaseous state. In this state, it penetrates the polyester structure of the object in question. As a result, the print becomes an integral part of the surface - it does not peel, crack, wash or change its properties over time.

CRAFT PAPER paper has been designed to support this process to the maximum - it ensures fast drying of the ink, even colour rendering and excellent colour intensity after transfer.


Application of CRAFT PAPER sublimation paper

CRAFT PAPER paper is ideal for:

  • decoration of clothing and textiles (T-shirts, bags, pillowcases),
  • labelling of ceramic cups, bottles, metal bidons,
  • printing on puzzles, key rings and promotional gadgets,
  • creating decorations - frames, clocks, coasters,
  • production of souvenirs and promotional materials.


How to print on sublimation paper?

To use the CRAFT PAPER sublimation paper correctly:

  • Use it only with sublimation printers and sublimation inks.
  • Print on the correct side of the paper - white not blue.
  • Lay the printed design on paper on the chosen product for sublimation and press with the transfer press according to the temperature, time and pressure recommendations for the product.


Can sublimation be printed on plain paper?

No. Ordinary office paper is not suitable for sublimation printing - it does not retain ink on the surface, does not release it effectively during transfer and causes a significant loss of print quality and colours will be pale and blurred. To achieve durable and aesthetically pleasing results, a paper designed for sublimation, such as CRAFT PAPER, is essential.
