Flat transfer press ONYX
The Schwitzler ONYX is a flatbed transfer press with automatic opening and a sliding work table, designed for professional printing on clothing and other flat substrates. This design meets the key requirements users typically look for in medium-format presses: convenient access to the work area, safer operation and comfortable working conditions for day-to-day production.
The key advantage of this model is its larger 40 x 50 cm work table, which offers significantly more freedom when working with A3-sized formats and larger designs on T-shirts, sweatshirts, bags, pillowcases and other textiles. The larger surface area makes it easier to position the print, allows for more convenient placement of the material, and works better in production where larger designs or larger clothing sizes are often required.
The sliding table makes it easier to lay out the material, as the work is carried out outside the heating zone. This design improves ergonomics and reduces the risk of accidental contact with the hot plate.

Operating modes and quick switching between settings
The ONYX heat press has 3 operating modes (presets), each of which can have its own temperature and time settings saved. This is a practical solution when working with different products and transfer techniques, as it allows you to prepare your most frequently used configurations in advance and switch between them quickly without having to enter the parameters manually each time.
You can save separate settings, for example, for different types of materials or your most frequently carried out jobs. This makes operating the machine more efficient.
Changing the preset is done from the main screen using the RESET button, which switches the machine between presets 1, 2 and 3. The currently selected preset is highlighted on the display. The screen shows the set temperature and time for the selected mode. This is a clear and convenient way to monitor parameters during operation.
Automatic opening and retractable worktop
With medium-format flatbed printers, it is not the temperature range itself that makes the biggest difference in day-to-day work, but the way the machine is operated.
Automatic opening reduces the risk of the print overheating and helps maintain process consistency, particularly in mass production.
Meanwhile, the extendable worktop makes it easier to position the material and improve print alignment. This is important for both beginners and businesses handling a higher volume of orders.
An additional advantage is the ability to ‘thread’ the fabric onto the work table, which makes it easier to work with T-shirts, bags or pillowcases and helps prevent accidental transfer onto unwanted layers of fabric. In practice, this translates into better control over the positioning of the print and more convenient operation.
